See Kraddy live. I cannot stress that enough. You may have to fight your way thru a hamster skull and wrestle your way thru a wompet to get there, but the tour schedule is [Here] on the main site. More dates will be announced, so check back if you’re nowhere near a landing point. …next up, free remix time from Daddy Kraddy. And my only complaint? Every time I listen to it I want it to...

33 songs, 13 quotes and 1 clip… all in 55-minutes. This is an awesome house party set, as the many quotes work as conversation pieces, but the music styles keep changing so that it doesn’t alienate anyone who doesn’t like a specific genre. For a limited time, this set will remain up for free download [Click to Download]. After that, if you didn’t get a copy, you’ll...

“Joga” is a Bjork favorite, but Matta’s done it dubstep justice. The subtle level changes and not-so-subtle glitch elements breath new life into the song. [Free from Matta]

Drink the Sea - The Remixes Vol.1
Less than an hour ago, The Glitch Mob released the first volume of remixes from “Drink the Sea”. By donating $10 to help rebuild Haiti, you get the full remix album + and the next volume of the remixes + more music from other D2D dot Org artists. We’ve been waiting for R/D’s remix of “Starve the Ego, Feed the Soul” for a while now… getting even more music...

Know Us (NiT GriT Remix)
The “Know Us” single came out on Addictech on the 7th. A warning, as always with Addictech, that they have hidden fees. After waiting three months for this single, I’m personally willing to wait for it to show up on Amazon, Beatport or Juno. The shining star is easily the NiT GriT remix [Here on Addictech]. They made excellent choices to cut parts of the original song out in...

Radiohead - Street Spirit (Knight Riderz Remix)
Knight Riderz caught my attention when they remixed “Teardrop”. This week, they’ve got my whole attention with their remix of Radiohead’s “Street Spirit” [Click to Download]. The bassline is reminiscient of NiT GriT, while the beat structure and processing on the clap is all Knight Riderz. They’ve just released their EP “Mind Riddims”...

Virtual Boy - Mass
Virtual Boy’s gearing up for their EP “Symphony No. Nøne”. This free promotrack they’re giving away is a good taster. Honestly, the middle section isn’t very inspiring for my own tastes. I was about to pass on it when it entered the second build at about the four-minute mark. It’s a keeper. I’ll likely edit it for my own library, but this little piece...

Daft Punk vs Basic Slack - TRON Aftermath
Mark these words: you’ll be hearing hundreds of “Tron Legacy” remixes in 2011. It has already begun. Basic Slack’s remix of “Armory” (above) is just one of many remixes he’s compiled on his “Tron Legacy Aftermath” album. My favorites are actually “Rinzler” and “End of Line”. The entire collection is up for free...

Alphabets Heaven - Jay's Odyssey
The new album from Alphabets Heaven, “Jay’s Odyssey”, came out today [Here on King Deluxe]. The track above is a collaboration between Alphabets Heaven and Alessi’s Ark, called “Woman”. The album as a whole carries influences from sampling and oldschool turntablism, but with an incredible range throughout the whole audio spectrum. Anyone without a subwoofer...

The 5th Anniversary of Dubstep Warz
The show that broke out dubstep, now on Mixcloud [link]! This is a 48-track 2-hour history lesson on the genre that took over electronica. Did dubstep exist before Mary Anne Hobbes broadcast this show? Yes. But she “tipped” it. eastsidewestside: Dubstep Warz by Mary Anne Hobbs on Mixcloud “If your chest ain’t rattlin’, it ain’t happenin’” Fuck my face. Listening to this...

Give Us a Little Love (Fracture Design Remix)
Fallulah - Give Us A Little Love (Fracture Design Remix) Fracture Design calls this remix an “attempt” at dubstep? I call it a success. It’s just dark enough to hold back the otherwise light vocal delivery. Mad thanks to The Jackplug for turning me on to this track. [Click to Download]

Pendulum - Set Me on Fire
I don’t like Pendulum. Neither do I dislike them. Their last few albums have been technical works of perfection. But, just like a photo of the Eiffel Tower that is technically perfect, I just don’t care. That doesn’t mean that a person who is obsessed with the Eiffel Tower wouldn’t enjoy the photo, just not me. It wasn’t until spring of last year that I turned a...

Ugress - Planetfall
[Click to Download] [Planet Fall on Ugress dot Com] Ugress began pressing his own records in the late months of the year 2000… making him one of the very first DIY artists in the electronic music scene. This cinematic piece starts off as a dark dance piece, balancing the darkness with lighter jazzy elements. Then, just past the halfway mark, it gearshifts into a chiptune-hybrid track...

Digital=Divine - The Passenger
[Click to Download] [Original SoundCloud Page] “The Passenger” is one of the pivotal score pieces in “The Book of Eli”, a fluid cinematic piece that builds without ever releasing, maintaining a dark “mournful” quality throughout the whole. Digital=Divine’s cover takes it in a new direction, more gritty and more of a groove. I would go so far as to...

The DJ Shadow Remix Project
DJ Shadow’s remix project hit the net yesterday. It’s up for free download [Here on the Main Site]. There are so many different styles in the compilation that no single track could summarize the whole. The above track is just one of my personal favorites, as it highlights the original free poetry by Gift of Gab. Any fans of dubstep, breaks and sampling is going to drink up all...

Jezika - HealurEyez
“HealurEyez” by Jezika This cinematic breakcore track was one of the overlooked gems of 2010. It’s included in the free download sampler that you get for registering on FEM Records. Most of what I know about Jezika is from her designs and photomods. I’m hoping she expands her Web2.0 presence along musical lines much like she has for her visual works, as she’s...

Molecular Tugs: The Great Escape →
moleculartugs: They say History repeats itself. In the Year 2999 this is true. However it is not necessarily any specific events of our past that spin on this cycle, but the cultural traditions and expectations that give life to them. In the same way a Blacksmith,… [Free Download from Peppermill Records]

Welcome to Tumblr
jayaprime: Ok, any tips on Tumblr? You've got me thinking about music blogging and I like their interface.
ksabroso: Main tip: Use Wordpress. I've used both in the past and Tumblr is not the one to go with. I'll be switching back soon.
jayaprime: Lol. Yeah, I've used Wordpress for years. I need to at least have a Tumblr presence. Its viral capabilities are unmatched.
ksabroso: If you are reblogging 2 second looped animated gifs of kittens riding rainbows made of dustep, it'll go viral. Good music will largely get ignored.Plus the ability to directly communicate with other tumblrs is virtually non-existant. Try it out.
jayaprime: Good call, I'll set up a tweet-link ASAP... that is definitely a weakpoint.
ksabroso: Yeah. Tumblr is cool for people who want to broadcast content but it's not for those who want to interact with their community.
jayaprime: Agreed. It's more of a media stream. My stance is that someone's gonna put my stuff on there eventually. May as well be me.
ksabroso: Very true. I just wouldn't make it the hub of any marketing campaign. I laughed my ass off at the truth in this post: http://bit.ly/egP7ds
jayaprime: Hah! Stuff hipsters hate. I've definitely seen that on Tumblr ;}
ksabroso: Yeah. Tumblr is like the Fruity Loops of blogging platforms. Easy to get into but ultimately unsatisfying.
